Installing the Adobe Web Player

The Adobe Web Player program must be installed onto your computer in order to run
our online test programs.  

 

Microsoft Windows Users
Click on and then print the document file below.  You can follow the step-by-step instructions
on how to instal the Adboe web player on your computer.

Help Needed?
If you need help and want us to install everything for you, you will need to
give us temporary access to your computer, while you monitor the installation.
Download the TeamviewerQS.exe program (click here ).  
After the file finishes downloading, find it's location on your computer and double-click on it to open it.
Then call us by phone and give us both the ID and password provided by Teamviewer.


Note: if you try to run one of the online tests programs and it doesn't load correctly
you do not have the Adobe program installed correctly and will need to call us for help.

Apple Mac Intel-based OSX users
Our programs will not work with the lastest Snow Leopard update to Apple computers.
If you have the Leopard (OSX) operating system, you can try to follow the steps below.
However, we recommend that you run Windows on your Mac using a program such as Paralells,
Boot Camp or VM Ware Fusion

Steps to follow to Install the Adobe web player program on a Mac:
You must use the Safari browser for our programs to work on your computer.
Safari must be placed in rosetta mode.

1.  Put Safari into Rosetta mode
        To do this, find the safari.app file in the Applications folder on your computer.
        If you have a mouse with two buttons, right-click on the safari.app file to open up a drop
        down menu.  Click on "get info" and then look for the box to check that reads "Run Safari
        in rosetta mode.  After that, download the following files:

2.  Download the Authorware Web Player 7 for Mac.
       
Click this link to download the Adobe web player.

3.  Download the Shockwave Player for Mac.
         Click this link to download the Shockwave player.

4.  Get the Stuff It Expander program
       You will need to expand the compressed authorware.sit file that you downloaded.
       There is a free program called "stuffit expander" which you can download by if you click here

5.  Uncompress the Authorware file using Stuff It

6.  Install the two files
       Then, find the location of the two downloaded files that were saved to your computer.
       Install the "Adobe Web Player Complete Install" file first, followed by the Shockwave file.

            

Check to see if  you installed the web player correctly?

To be sure that you installed the web player program correctly, enter the
Anatomy and Physiology test program page.  Click on the A&P basic program. 
You should see the MMTI logo as the program loads and then be taken to the A&P main menu page with
links for all the tests within the program.

Note:  If you only see a small box with the Macromedia logo, you did not install the program correctly.
