Massage Board Review Class- Frequent Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up for the course?
Click on the "Sign Up and Getting Started" link on the left side of the main page of this web site.
You will be able to register for the course via email or by regular mail.

What are my sign-up options?
We offer a complete Massage Board Review course package which contains live classes plus online practice examinations, audio files and handouts.  You may choose to take only the live classes or only the online programs but our students have had the best results, by far, when using the complete package.

How do you accept payment?
We accept check or credit card payment by Paypal.  You can go to www.paypal.com and click on the "send money" tab.  In the "To;" box, type:  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it to submit payment for any of our programs.

What are the "online test programs?"
The interactive online test programs contain hundreds of test questions in different categories.  Each program will keep track of your score and allow you to repeat most of the individual tests as many times as you like.  We currently have three programs to assist students studying for the State Board exam.  We suggest that you work through the programs in the order listed below.

1.  Anatomy and Physiology Lite - designed to help you brush up on general A&P knowledge
2.  Massage Board Review Program - contains individual categories, such as myology, pathology, western massage, etc.)
3.  Massage Board Practice Program - individual practice tests with questions covering all areas
This program is designed to be used after all lecture classes have been completed.

How do I access the interactive programs?
Look under the "Massage Board Practice Tests" box along the left side of the main page of the web site.  Be aware that program is protected content and requires a subscription and has a fee associated with it.  If you have already paid for the program or for the complete State Board review package, ignore the fee, as you will not have to pay again.  You will have access as soon as we manually remove the restriction for you.

How do I get the interactive programs to work on my computer?
In order for all the interactive programs to work, you will need to download and install the Adobe Authorware web player.  This is essential.  Instructions on installation can be found under the "Sign Up and getting Started" link on the home page of this website.  You only have to install the Adobe web player program once, and if successful, all the test programs on the site will work properly.

Which interactive test programs are included as part of the course?
The following are all part of the course and should be used in the order presented:
    Anatomy & Physiology Program
    Massage Board Subject Program
    Massage Board Practice Program

Why do some of the interactive program have a "times accessed" limit?
After discovering that students have freely shared their password with others, we were forced to institute a "times accessed" limit for some of our programs.  Our computer also detect the IP address of the computer you are logging in from and ties that information to your password.  Should someone else log in with your password from a different IP address, your right to use the program will be immediately forfeited.

How can your success rate be so high?
We have devoted over six years to improving the quality and content of all aspects of our review course.  We are also available to students via telephone or email to answer any questions that arise.  We also are aware that students have different learning syles and take that into consideration.  Dr. Desepoli has spent years studying for and taking exams in different fields and is keenly aware of test-taking skills as well as the psychology of studying and memory retention.

The Massage Board exam tests general knowledge.  Anatomy and physiology questions that appear on the exam are probably very similar to or the same as A&P questions that would appear for any profession. We also repeat topics presented and stress repetition.  The use of our online programs is a significant asset as well.  We monitor student interactive program test scores on our website and send friendly reminders to encourage you to get your gluteus maximus in gear.

What does "subscribe" mean?

Access to some features and programs on the site in not provided free of charge.  You must subscribe to each individual program via the subscription page.  When you try to access the menu item of a program requiring a subscription, you will automatically be redirected to the subscription page.  Be sure to choose the exact subscription you require.  If you have already paid for access to the material, you will be given full access and do not need to pay again.

My scores on the test programs are low.  What should I do?
Slow and steady studying in small bits seems to work best for most students.  When taking the practice exams, take the time to actually understand why the correct answer was correct.  Some students rush through the questions or take them at work, while worrying if their boss will enter the room.  The more focused you are when studying, the more you will remember.   Also remember that repetition will improve your scores.  You will see the questions again and again.

My browser is saying "cookies must be enabled."  What should I do?
Cookies are bits of information stored on your computer.  They store information on the times and dates you have visited web sites. Other information can also be saved to your computer such as information about online purchases and validation information for members-only web sites.

It seems like a large amount of material.  How do you suggest that I study for the exam?
Breaking down the material into small bits has always been good advice for studying.  Focusing on more important areas, as well as skimming over less important ones will cut down on your study time.  If you need any study advice, feel free to contact Dr. Desepoli.

I am using AOL to access the internet.  Will that pose a problem?
You can use AOL to access our website, but using AOL to access the interactive programs on our site is known to cause significant problems.  We suggest that you use Internet Explorer for best results.  If AOL is the only means by which you access the internet, you may be able to run the Internet Explorer browser outside of AOL.

What should I bring to the live classes?
Please bring the recommended review book that we are using for the course: Anatomy and Physiology the Easy Way by Edward Alcamo.  Bring a pen and notebook to take notes.  Also bring the asterisked handouts from the handouts page.

Please note the tape recording of the classes is not allowed.
